  • Heavy rainfall at Kedong Ranch has caused significant flooding and silt deposition on the B7 Road (Mai Mahiu–Suswa–Narok), making the route dangerous for motorists.
  • KeNHA teams and traffic marshals are currently on-site to manage traffic flow and clear the affected sections to restore normal operations.
  • Motorists traveling to Narok are advised to use the B18 Road (Nakuru–Njoro–Narok) to avoid the risk of getting stuck or swept away by floodwaters.

Yesterday evening, the Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) posted a warning advising drivers who are using the Mai Mahiu to Suswa to Narok (B7) Road after a section of the road was flooded and filled with silt deposition.

According to KeNHA, the affected areas are located at Kedong Ranch, where heavy rainfall was received yesterday evening, creating a hazardous condition for the motorists who use the route.

KeNHA assured that its team is within the area, working around the clock to restore traffic back to normal and ensure the safety of motorists. Motorists have been urged not to drive through flooded areas, and they should strictly follow instructions given by police officers and traffic marshals to prevent being swept away or getting stuck on the silt.

KeNHA continued and said that the area will be receiving heavy rainfall, and motorists have to exercise extreme caution while driving along some sections of the road, majorly between Naivasha ICD and Suswa Ranch. Motorists who are still preparing to begin their journey are advised by KeNHA to consider using the Narok to Njoro to Nakuru (B18) Road.
