The Indian Formula 4 Championship 2026 is here, but something seems to connect Kenya to it, which is the inclusion of an American-Kenyan racer called Anay Doshi.
Looking at the Indian F4 history, it was officially announced in August 2021 alongside the FRegional Championship, which was intended to be the next chapter for the F4 championship winners. Five years later, only one series out of the two was successful, but only after a one-year delay. The first season, which was scheduled for 2022, was pushed back to 2023.
The Indian F4’s 2026 season features 14 drivers from around five continents, and they are racing for eight teams. The event kicked off at Kari Motor Speedway last weekend, with the second round taking place this coming weekend.
For each round, three races will be held, with two free practice sessions either on Friday or Saturday. Following them will be the two qualifying sessions. The first qualifying session will be for setting the grid for Race 1, while the second session will be for Race 3.
Anay Doshi, number #98, is making his debut in the race, and he will be competing alongside his teammate Sai Aditya #9 under the Chennai Turbo Riders team.
Anay’s history connects more to Nairobi, having both American and Kenyan nationalities. Anay Doshi, as of 2026, is 16 years old, and his motorsports journey began while racing locally at events like the Rift Valley Sports Club karting tracks.
Doshi’s story in Motorsport remains within the “shallows,” still developing, and there is more to learn about his journey from carting competitions here in Kenya to participating in the 2026 Formula 4 Championship.
