Two trucks miscalculated the Pembroke underpass width and got stuck in the middle of the bridge. One of the trucks was believed to be heading to Ol Kalou and the other one from Ol Kalou.
The incident isn’t the first one to happen at that spot, as there are reports and headlines of long distances being stuck after drivers underestimated the underpass height.
The Pembroke House Flyover acts as a crucial connection for Gilgil and Nyahururu towns and was built to accommodate medium-sized trucks, but many times many drivers underestimate its height and width. This incident is first of all happening where the trucks are not caught up because of their height but the overall width.
The road where the truck got stuck is a C77 and serves motorists who travel from central Kenya to northern Kenya and covers a distance of around 68 kilometers from either town.
Even though there’s no official report by this time, motorists can use alternative routes, including the Nyahururu town-Nakuru highway, which goes through Nakuru City. We are looking to confirm if traffic along that road is back to normal and the time of the incident.
