Social media buzzed with a rare picture of a newly reworked Nganya that was launched in July 2026. In a video posted by Urbanpeeps on YouTube, it shows the new Matatu called Ultron officially being launched, surrounded by energetic fans who had been awaiting that moment.
The Ultron Nganya operates on the Embakasi route, or Route 33, under Royal Sacco. Like the Opposite Nganya, the Mood Nganya, or the Optimus Nganya, this matatu is a work of art on wheels.
The exterior features custom bodywork and graffiti inspired by Ultron, the robot from Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now you can see where this Matatu got its name. The front fascia from the top features an amber LED light bar, followed by LED strobe lights. I also noticed that almost half of the top of the windshield is covered with a flexible LED matrix panel.
The LED headlights and the squared LED lights above the headlights are arranged in a shape slanting downwards towards the grille, giving the Ultron Matatu an aggressive look. The grille features a centered red shield with a black wings badge, and bordering the grille are white LED strips. At the bottom of the grille, on the front bumper, it features squared LED bar lights enhanced with squared twin LED lights on the sides, with orange illumination the center and white illumination at the border.
On its sides, it features top LED lights that run from front to back, with the body filled with Ultron Robot and Marvel-inspired artwork. On the rear, it features top-placed front-looking LED bar lights, which create a stair-like structure with the front top LED bar lights when viewed from the front.
Big Ultron artwork covers almost all parts of the rear. The lighting setup features top beacon lights placed on top of the spoiler, yellow, orange, and white in color. It also has horizontal running brake lights seen on top, connected to vertical running LED brake lights flanking each other. The lights are connected to an indicator and brake light. The rear bumper houses a few brake lights and the number plate, along with center bottom-looking exhaust outlets.
The interior of the Ultron Nganya features a reddish atmosphere, with the color matching the exterior. It has several 75-inch TV screens, the iconic eagle badge embedded on the standard seats, and a sound system that can’t be missed. The sound system is connected to a bass speaker at the back and at various spots below some seats, with the mids located at the rear top and on the sides of the TV screen placed on the roof. The Ultron Nganya rides on an Isuzu NQR chassis, and the body was built by KCI Body Works (Kenya Coach Industries). However, we didn’t have the pricing for the full customization, but the price for an Isuzu NQR 33-seater ranges from KES 6.8 million to 7.2 million. Additionally, the custom work can make the price even higher depending on the sound system, artwork, and interior features.
