  • KeNHA has announced a partial closure of the Emali to Isineti Road near Simba Cement from July 24, 2026, to August 13, 2026.
  • The disruption is intended to allow the installation of a culvert across the carriageway to improve drainage infrastructure.
  • Motorists will be redirected through a 100-metre diversion and are advised to drive carefully and follow instructions from traffic officers and marshals on site.

Motorists who use the Emali to Isineti Road will experience a temporary traffic disruption following the closure of a section of the road to pave the way for construction of a drainage structure.

From the notice issued on Friday, the Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) stated that the section that will be affected the most is located near Simba Cement and will be partially closed from Friday, July 24, 2026, to Thursday, August 13, 2026.

The closure will allow installation of a culvert across the carriageway at an existing natural channel to improve drainage infrastructure along the road.

Motorists are expected to get barriers blocking the affected section, but they will be temporarily diverted to a diversion that measures 100 meters that’s in the opposite affected section.

Motorists are advised to be careful while approaching the area and to follow the direction from traffic officers and marshals who are deployed at the site.
